Estancia Travel specializes in organizing riding trips in and around the Torres del Paine National Park. Within this corner of Chile, known as Patagonia, our mission is to provide our clients with a fantastic and memorable riding holiday whilst always respecting the environment and culture in the areas we visit.

We have put together several packages from 1 to 10 day Horse riding trips for both experienced horse enthusiasts, along with people who are visiting the park as hikers, but who would like to experience this beautiful part of the world on the traditional form of transport, the faithful horse.

There are many trails in the park, which cross widely different types of terrain. As riders can cover greater distances than hikers, our trips allow you to experience an enormous and diverse section of this pristine wilderness.

There is also plenty to offer the wildlife enthusiast. Twenty-five species of mammal including the elusive puma, the ostrich-like rhea, and the now protected guanacos can be found in the park. There are over one hundred species of birds, notably black-necked swans, flamingoes, ibis, rheas, austral parakeets and southern lapwings. Condors with a wingspan of three metres will be seen hovering over valleys.

TORRES DEL PAINE RIDE
Two day horse ride suitable for novice or experienced riders.

This two day horse trip will give you the opportunity to experience and share the culture and traditions of a working estancia in Patagonia, one of the most spectacular places in the world.

Day 1
Morning collection from your hotel in Puerto Natales then transferred in comfort to the small farming settlement Cerro Castillo. Meet horses and baqueano and set off on the trail to estancia Tecera Barranca. The evening will be spent on this beautiful estancia that borders with the magnificent Torres del Paine national park. A traditional Chilean barbecue will be enjoyed for dinner.

Day 2
Early morning we will set off on our morning ride following the Rio de las Chinas to the China waterfall. Today the ride will allow us to appreciate the differing types of flora and fauna to be found in this region. Late afternoon you will be taken by transfer back to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

Experience needed: Novice to advanced riders.

Equipment used: Traditional Chilean saddles and bridles. English and Western saddles are available for those who prefer.

Food: The food is all organically grown. Fresh local meats or fish are offered with most meals. Quality Chilean wine is offered with every meal, along with a welcome aperitif on arrival the estancia. Vegetarians should forward dieters requirements.
